I fell in love with this painting of a stormy sea when I saw it in a local gallery. Eventually I managed to buy it! It’s by Daryll Nantais.

This is an amazing model. It has ‘BOUNTY’ painted on the stern but it’s not the famous Bounty. This one looks like a Tudor ship, like The Mary Rose rather than an 18th century ship like Captain Bligh’s The Bounty.
I bought it about 14 years ago from the gift shop at Mountfitchet Castle where they sell second hand ornaments and toys. It is pictured here with a model of the moon behind it.

This wooden model is labelled Bergantin Siglo XVIII. It has lovely details, such as a tiny barrel and gun ports.
There is an interesting article about Bergatina ships on Robert’s Old Ships, see link below.

I saw this lovely fish in a shop window in Saffron Walden yesterday

I love this iron double-lighthouse doorstop, it’s strange to have two lighthouses so close together on one rock! It was a birthday present from my partner last year and came from the shop at the wonderful Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum on the Isle of Wight.

This is my first ship in a bottle which I bought about 30 years ago. It came from a small antiques shop in Muswell Hill, London, where I lived at the time.
